AIRCOMFORT SYSTEM
On small to medium backpacks that are at home in easier terrain we go for maximum ventilation. The heart of the Aircomfort systems – tested and proven for decades – is its flexible spring steel frame. It is extremely durable, provides stable tension for the airy back mesh and creates the ventilation space between pack and wearer’s back for the moist, warm air to dissipate. 1984 Deuter invented & patented the first mesh back system worldwide.
ACTIVE COMFORT FIT
To guarantee a perfect fit, the backpack should sit as close to the body as possible. Thus, the weight can be evenly distributed on the entire back. The Active-Comfort-fit system achieves its fantastic carrying comfort with a stable, padded construction.
SPRING STEEL FRAME
The round spring steel frame is very lightweight and flexible. It is extremely durable, provides stable tension for the back mesh and transfers the load to the hip belt. Its flexibility guarantees great freedom of movement and a perfect fit.

The reduced contact surface of the deuter Airstripes back system and airy, quick-drying Air Spacer mesh against the back combined with perforated shoulder straps and hip fins ensure maximum airflow, even weight distribution and a snug, secure fit on via ferrata (fixed-rope) routes. A flat-format lid allows space for the head to move, even when wearing a helmet. Loops on the shoulder straps keep via ferrata set carabiners close at hand. And a large front zipper opening and side pockets mean equipment is always easy to access.
This hiking backpack for extended hikes comes with our Aircomfort back system featuring our innovative VariClick 5-stage adjustable back length. Shoulder straps anchored directly to the frame deliver improved load transfer, while the padded hip fins distribute the weight evenly. Helix Valve: The new mouthpiece is drip-proof and has a water stop tap. The tap is opened by a simple quarter turn. With light pressure, the water flow is activated and flows at a comfortable rate.
