This model is a favorite among Malaysia’s orang Asal ( Indigenous people ) . They usually do not use any other type or shape of parangs. One of the reasons is because of the square tip . This tip is extremely strong and robust, perfectly suited for their use. The Orang Asal use alot of bamboo in their daily lives, therefore whatever cutting tool they use must have top notch performance on bamboo.
